22 Spiritual Awakening Signs
Inspired by Mickey Arison & Shannon Kaiser
A spiritual awakening can be triggered by anything, from the completely mundane to the completely life-altering.
(Oh btw, I didn’t want to copy and paste everything, so I made it my own.)
According to spiritual writer Shannon Kaiser and Mickey Arison, some common causes include life-changing events. People opening spiritual doors or seeing angel numbers (which is big for me) These can include finding soulmates, twin flames, and the love of your life. ( losing job, moving away from home, car accidents, etc.)
“spiritual awakenings can be spontaneous,” she said, “but for most people, they are triggered by major life changes or trauma, such as life-threatening illnesses, car accidents, divorces, wars, epidemics, midlife crisis, a mental health crisis, such as clinical depression or anxiety, or even a near death experience. “
22 signs and symptoms of a spiritual awakening by Mickey Arison and Shannon Kaiser (I’m going to add a few of my own so I’m not just coping and pasting) According to both of them, here are some signs that you’re going through a spiritual awakening or are about to embark on one:
1. Cognitive Dissonance/Just Feeling More Rebellious
2. You feel detached and disconnected.
At first, the process of spiritual awakening can be overwhelming and confusing. It seems that everything you think about your life is a lie, so Kaiser explained that you will feel “disconnected and separated from the things and people you once liked.”
Yes. I do feel more detached and disconnected. I did house cleaning. I got rid of everything I thought I knew. I used to love this one school for 18 years, now I’m supporting the rival. A couple of orgs I used to love and put my heart into, I always suspected I couldn’t trust many, but it was revealed through various means that they didn’t want me as a friend. I’m rebelling against the Catholics, I’m house cleaning a lot of things. I like being bad.
3. You have modified your beliefs.
Richardson pointed out that spiritual awakening may lead you to modify your spiritual beliefs or adopt important new beliefs. Whether this means learning more about a new religion or belief, or quitting your job to pursue true passion, your priorities may now be different.
I’ve rebelled against the Catholics. I’ve definitely reevaluated my beliefs. I listen to Hindu music. I pull up church on a borrowed computer now, and I prefer spending more time with animals in nature.
I have to be transparently honest. Lately I feel like prayers go unanswered, and remember, no answer is also a answer (this goes for people not responding either, no response is a response). I’m not a fan of organized religion right now, and I never have considered myself to be the most religious person in the world. But usually when I ask for help this has been the typical response, it goes unanswered or it’s silent (yes I got a few of you in my corner, like Steve Bello and Acshettle). Then when I take matters into my own hands and do it my way they say “But you should let people in sometimes? Just for them to mess it up and I gotta go back and correct it anyways? I’m not even a micromanaging person it would just be nice to be able to trust more people to get the damn shit done. Damned if I do, damned if I don’t. I’ve definitely modified my beliefs because I have too many life experiences that tells me I can’t trust too many people outside myself, and that generally I can’t depend on others around me. As humans, I know we are supposedly supposed to need each other and we need connection to a certain degree. (Does saying hi to the people in the store count? Or going out sometimes help?) But I don’t ever want to need from anyone like ever if I can help it. (And don’t get me started on churches, they say it’s a place to go to when you need help, but when I have a crisis or two personally I stay away. In some instances I feel like God isn’t looking out for me, maybe other people, but not me, I have love and still believe but obstacles I come across? This is not gonna convince me to visit a church or get into a romantic relationship any quicker Lord. And people keep telling me I’m an empath/lightworker? Maybe homie made me to purely to receive and experience problems for a purpose, and ultimately learned in the end my happiness is my own responsibility. )
4. The meaning of your dreams and how they relate to your journey may also become more apparent.
Your dreams and life can be more vivid. Kaiser says that not only will your sober life become more vivid due to spiritual awakening, but your dream life may also become more vivid. The meaning of your dreams and how they relate to your journey may also become more apparent.
On November 21st, 2021 I had a dream I was hanging out with a celebrity. I’m going to keep it to myself until it becomes reality.
5. You experience more angel numbers, synchronicities and déjà vu.
Angel numbers, synchronicities. If you often experience exciting Deja vu, such as thinking about someone and meeting them randomly the next day, or seeing angel numbers all the time, it shows that you are on your spiritual path. Similarly, the feeling of deja vu is not uncommon.
I SEE ANGEL NUMBERS ALL THE TIME. Apparently, I have all these guides, ancestors, and guides looking out for me, but are they really?
6. You may feel like your loved ones no longer understands you because you are changing
Your relationships begin to shift. There’s no question: spiritual awakening is transformative, and the people in your life may not always realize this. “You may feel like your loved one no longer understands you because you are changing,” Richardson recommends asking loved ones to respect what you’re going through, reminding them that they don’t have to resonate with your awakening.
No one in my life currently understands me. Maybe a few. I started posting more inside jokes on my family Facebook and a few serious topics and I noticed my numbers started to dip. I’m currently in a rebellious stage, and when you need people most I find some walk out the door. This is a test to see who would really be there if it boils down to it.
Also looking for people who want to see you succeed and be happy. The people who love and support you who will revel in your achievements, as if they had done it themselves. I tell you, jealousy, anger, has grown so much in people that can’t see anyone happy or successful. We need more Miss Nigerias. It really does pay to be happy for other’s successes, because if you have a pure heart one way or the other it will work out.
Honestly, this #BlackGirlMagic and utter joy was a beautiful thing to witness, especially given that we live in a cynical world that praises folks for accumulating haters and loves to pin Black girls( in traditionally white spaces) against one another. But on that stage, there was no pettiness or jealousy. It was all love…and it gave me all the feels.
“Yep, cheer for your girls, revel in their success like it was your own. Life is so much better when you find joy in other’s happiness,” weighed in @FromShaw.
7. Finding meaning and fulfilling desires in your spirituality can become one of your highest priorities.
You feel that spirituality has become an important part of your life. As Richardson pointed out, when you go through this process, it’s hard to ignore the call from your spiritual side. Finding meaning and fulfilling desires in your spirituality can become one of your highest priorities.
This is why I want to spend months in the woods with animals with Hindu music. :D
8. You are more intuitive.
According to Richardson, another sign is the appearance of improved intuition or new intuitive abilities. They have been there the whole time, buried under the layers of your ego, now that you are awake, you feel more in sync with yourself.
Are you actually revealing my secret to the world that I have an ego?
Any time we feel misunderstood, unseen, unheard, or disrespected, it creates a feeling of tension and unease in us. I’m no different.
9. You may feel unreal and manipulative.
In addition to this increased intuition, when someone deceives you, you will also feel any manipulation or unreal behavior. “It’s hard to deal with dishonesty,” she added.
I only go to war when it comes to food. When people want to walk out of my life I let them.
10. You realize everyone is on their own path.
Richardson pointed out that when you discover your own spiritual path, you will increasingly accept the idea that others are also walking on their own unique path. Things like winning arguments or convincing people to believe your point of view are no longer important.
Yep. Interesting you bring this one up. I spoke out on my experiences with racism in 2020, and I notice in recent months my numbers are slowly but surely going up, with more claps and views. And I’m getting some opportunities for it in unexpected ways. I see angel numbers #222, #333, #555. Others are trying to shut me down (but it’s not going to work). You are going to always have your supporters, and you are going to always have your haters. And there’s going to be people that don’t have any sympathy for what you’ve experience/experienced, and at that point it’s not worth it to have the conversation at all. There’s some people that won’t see it from your perspective no matter what you do. For those who are taking up my cause and spreading the word, thank you. I don’t care about fame, and with having a small tribe it’s really cool to see my Medium, Youtube and Soundcloud reach about to reach 1 million plays/streams/views. Which one going to hit a million first? I leave that up to you. #333.
11. You want to be of service.
As you begin “realizing that every living thing is inherently worthy and equal,” Richardson says, you will feel called to be of service, whether to people, to animals, or to the environment. It’s important to you that you have a cause you can get behind to make your life feel purposeful. It may not be about changing your current roles or jobs, Richardson adds, but just approaching what you’re already doing with a deeper sense of service.
I want to be of service to animals. I already have 8 outdoor cats. And multiple squirrels.
12. Your teachers find you.
During the awakening period, your spiritual master can “appear anywhere at the perfect time to help you.” They are not necessarily true teachers — they may be strangers at the store, new friends you meet by chance, or true spiritual or religious figures.
My teachers are coming from cool places.
13. You may feel lonely.
You may feel lonely. spiritual awakening is not easy, although there is hope for enlightenment on the other side, you will feel very lonely. Let your whole life turn upside down to be isolated, especially if the other people in your life aren’t exactly on the same wavelength.
Isolation is the name of my game. I found at different periods of my life, I took my own path and I didn’t fit in because of it. (I still don’t). I find a lot of times many people isn’t on the same page as me.
I’ve been used to dealing with things on my own for years. Some people may find it strange or uncomfortable being by themselves, but I thrive in it.
14. You feel closer to the natural world.
Kaiser and Richardson agree that although you may feel less connected with family and friends at first, you will feel more connected with nature. From plants to animals to the whole world, you will feel the interconnection between you and everything, which can be very touching.
THIS. I feel like nature and animals are my friends more than people. I have 8 outdoor cats. Animals flock to me, like I’m their mother.
15. Your senses have been enhanced.
During spiritual awakening, as you pay more attention to the present, the senses tend to become more acute. This includes sensitivity to physical, emotional, and/ or energetic stimuli.
I think the Universe is trying to push me into a romantic relationship, and I do not approve.
16. You can feel more bodily sensations.
As awareness and senses increase, Cesar adds that you may have other physical sensations. Sleep disorders are not uncommon.
17. You may have physical symptoms.
Many physical symptoms can also be accompanied by mental arousal, such as fatigue and brain fog. (Of course, these symptoms can also be signs of a physical condition, so they don’t have to be considered trivial.)
18. There has been a sudden change in your habits and routines.
As your spiritual life begins to change, your daily life will also change, including habits and routines. Maybe now you can easily spend time in nature or meditate, or you have given up old habits that are no longer suitable for you.
19. Your outlook on the world feels different.
Once again, spiritual awakening is not easy, the alienation and self-destructive awareness that occurs will make anyone feel like they are living a new reality.
20. Increase empathy.
When you begin to feel more connected to the world around you, you will also feel more sympathy for the suffering of others. The universality of pain may not be ignored, which is why you now feel more in need of service.
21. You display more compassion.
To feeling more empathetic, people who have experienced spiritual awakening may feel more compassionate to others while still wanting to hold them accountable.
22. You have a new curiosity.
Finally, since you have “awakened” into your life, you may have a childlike curiosity and curiosity about the world around you, even if things become difficult. “Be able to be curious about your life and the people around you, even if you are excited,” Richardson pointed out, which is a sign of spiritual awakening.
23. You say f*** it and live your life.
May 2022 Update:
24. I’m at a point in my journey
I’m at a point in my journey where I am making decisions for my happiness that doesn’t make sense to anyone else around me. I’m not looking for a high-five, a word of encouragement. I’m not asking what you think about it. I’m just going to do it. So if you see me doing something out of character, or I’m acting brand new, or if I’m on some new shit. Just know it’s about who I am becoming and not about where I been. It’s about where I’m going and not where I was. And I don’t want anyone to take it personal when this growth happens. -Savannah Christina.
I’m at a point where no one understands me. I shredded my old identities (no more Catholics, no more schools that I used to support except one, GO BCHS TROJANS, etc) and everything I used to know to go into the unknown. Some friends that wasn’t great friends and was so scared to pick a side and kept walking down the middle when it came to me? I distanced myself from them. I didn’t stop caring, but I realized they didn’t! My peace is my #1 and everything else is a no. (This is the beginning of a future article I’m writing).
It’s 2021 🔥🙌
