Why calling someone lazy to guilt them into doing what you want is not the best way.

Question, do you know if you feel strong or if you feel numb? Or do you wonder if you are numb, emotionally detached and/or you pushed yourself to the point where you don’t have anything left in you anymore? Here’s the signs that you’re burnout.

According to Psy2Go, here’s 7 signs you are burnt out.

  1. Everything You Used To Do Feels Like A Chore

2. You feel disconnected from everything.

Going through the emotions like you are on autopilot, like you are detached from yourself and reality, and yourself.

Burnout?

You may not understand or realize that you are experiencing Depersonalization:

Question, do you know if you feel strong or if you feel numb?

If you ever experienced trauma:

Strange emotional numbness, emptiness, watching life from outside themselves

They don’t feel like themselves, and don’t feel engaged anymore. They feel helplessness, overwhelming sense or helplessness and not being able to take over their (inability to take over their lives.)

3. You used to be motivated

Laziness is a character trait.

They remain stable over. A lazy person doesn’t generally like applying themselves or exerting effort.

But if you used to be self-motivated, and high achieving, excelling in certain areas, but if you become unmotivated, apathetic and exhausted, you are more in likely suffering from burnout and not laziness like most people would think.

4. You Used To Be Passionate

Burnout Vs. Lazy

Burnout person used to have things they were passionate about, but may be struggling to find interest or enjoyment in anymore.

This could be sports, talent, academic or professional, burnout makes it hard for you to do the things you once loved and had passion for.

You might come to hate or resent it because of how hard you overworked yourself and pushed yourself to the brink because of it.

#5. You become irritable & moody

If you go off on people easily or snap at people, or emotionally out of control nowadays ? Or out of control and don’t know why?

Moodiness and irribility is overlooked symptoms and signs of burnout.

If you have problems controlling your emotions esp when its never been a problem for you?

You may be experiencing burnout.

Lazy people on the other hand, is a contrast because they are laidback, unaffected by things. (Psych2Go also mentioned Placid, by things). But sometimes people confuse laziness and burnout, you might not be lazy and still unaffected by things,

#6. You Neglected Your Self Care

Emotionally and physically burnout is if you start neglecting your self care, and start to socially withdraw from others. There's also changes in your eating and sleep patterns. You stop making an effort to groom yourself, or look good.

And you spend most of your time by yourself.Doing nothing, because you are so easily exhausted even by simple tasks.

Differences Between Laziness And Burnout is that you wasn't always this way.

7. Changes Happen Gradually in Stages:

All the points before

*Depersonalization:

  • Burnout:
  • Losing Interest & Motivation
  • Feeling Detached
  • Socially
  • Neglecting Yourself

This doesn’t happen overnight.

5 Stages Of Burnout

  • Honey Moon
  • Onset (Moderate amount of stress. Optimism, interest, motivation and performance)
  • Chronic Stress
  • Burnout
  • Habitual Burnout

(#5 Embossed in your life. Persistent and physical fatigue becomes harder to treated, and makes it easier to develop anxiety and depression)

Favor, instead of dismissing mental and emotional burnout as laziness, like most people tend to do.

Lets raise awareness about burnout instead of calling people lazy.
