7 Simple Language Swaps For Confident Communication

Conversations are far more complex than any Instagram post could ever capture. She created these examples with a particular subset of situations in mind. They will not always be the best choice and in some circumstances, the first group might be better to use.
What are language swaps that you use?
“When we are in situations where we feel a little insecure or nervous-often at work- we can slip into communication patterns that aren’t doing us any favors.
You know, the ones, those that make it seem like we’re not confident in who we are and what we’re contributing. But here’s the thing, you can be unsure about something and still communicate with confidence.
Small swaps in language can do a long way in how you (and your contribution) are perceived and more importantly, in how you feel.
Here’s are some simple swaps as you’re working on building your assertiveness. If you tend to default to any of the ones on the left side, try some alternatives on the right next time. I’d love to hear how it goes!-Charlotte, The Mind Friend

According to the mind friend, we should use less of these:
- Do you know what I mean (I use this all the time.)
- Maybe we should try
- I know this might be a stupid question but….(I also use this all the time)
- I can’t do..
- I don’t know
- Does that make sense?
- Filler words like “umm, like, just, basically”
