If you keep holding on to old things

You may miss out on the person you were meant to be.

How can you grow as a person if you keep holding on to old things? This goes for interpersonal relationships as well. In the journey of life, you’re going to outgrow people. It’s not that you are better than them, it’s just that you have a path that’s unique to yourself.-Manny Man

2024 quick update:

I want people to hold on to this thought for a future video. I’ve been letting go of the old. And I notice some of the old (i.e. old connections, old friends, old cliques) wants to reconnect.

Friendly reminder (and I won’t make this long, wait for the video for that).

  • They were the ones that didn’t want the friendship/wanted to stop being in touch, and even giving the silent treatment in some instances. Even if they are having a change of heart, I have no interest in reconnecting. My chapter in their book is closed. When I cared, they didn’t. Now I don’t, you apparently do? I want them to pretend I’m dead, so they can stop caring about me or looking me up on the internet. Or getting their friends to look me up so they can tell information about me to them. Get a life. Please and thank you. Move on from me. The energy that you’re putting into me, or wanting to reconnect with me? Or looking me up? Please put into other people. Listen to the advice of your tarot readers…Alesha doesn’t want to be bothered with you.
  • I don’t think people are used to this side of me, because they had access to me in certain ways they necessarily didn’t deserve to in the past. I allowed that, it was a mistake. I nowadays make people earn that. I’ve changed my boundaries and changed how I show up. Now all of sudden some of the people in my past are all of sudden more interested when I back off? People are strange…lol.
  • I’m keeping my progress to myself because I just don’t think most of the people I used to know don’t deserve to know what I’m up to lol. I have my people and they know who they are. (And yes, I understand some of my people are parents, and I’m not the priority anymore, we talked about that. Others, we pick up right where we left off…we are flexible with each other and we meet each other where we are at…). But for a good portion of people from my past, that’s where they need to stay. In my past. Make new memories with new people. I’m not your people. You never valued me as a friend or a person. You told lies, turned people against me and talked about me behind my back. I just find it odd that some of you keep reaching out to something that’s not there. I won’t be there for you to reach back to. I was that person for too long and now I’m gone. Take it elsewhere.
  • Here’s to not holding on to old things. I’m dumping them in the trash.
  • Hold these thoughts for a video…I have a lot to say.

You own everything that happened to you. Tell your stories. If people wanted you to write warmly about them, they should have behaved better. — Anne Lamott

It’s 2022 at the time of this writing, but by the time you read it, it will be 2024. I had to write a ton of content ahead of time to stay consistent despite what’s happening. 🔥🙌
