Playing big vs. playing small… I’m sure you’ve had the experience of both, right?
I can recall shrinking back and playing small when I had an opportunity to go big and shine.
Think back to a time when you were very passionate about something; a person, an activity, a cause or purpose.
Now picture having to stop before your time with it/them was complete.
Can you feel that feeling of void and incompletion?
It’s very unfulfilling.
The same applies to how we choose to live our lives; either small or full out, baby!
I’ve heard it said before that at the end of people’s lives they rarely express regret for the things they did do.
Their biggest regrets are for the things they wanted to do but didn’t.
We each decide for ourselves what is meaningful in our lives.
And we all have the choice of whether we will or will not leap into our days with passion, zest and joy — chasing our most beloved dreams.
But when we find things we are joyful and passionate about, we usually give them our all.
The “work” put into the task doesn’t drain us nearly as much as when we try to hold back our desires and aspirations and play small.
When we hold back, we experience the feeling of being stifled or worse yet we feel as if our lives have no meaning.
You did not decide to come to this life or planet earth in human form to play small and leave it incomplete upon your exit.
Go out there and give your all for the world to see as you chase your dreams!
You will be happier and more productive right now as well as each step of the way toward making those dreams your new reality.
And you will look back, many years later, on a life well lived.
