Hello! I just realized that I have a lot of drafts that are stuck in my inbox. I decided to start clearing my inbox and start writing regularly again.

Warning: Not fully finished and a very short article, with a lot of errors, but I hope you get the point!

I really don’t have to re-invent the wheel here because there’s so many great articles written here.

Like many of the authors above, I HATE when random people ask me what I am, or tell me what they think I am. Or stare at me like I’m a damn animal at the zoo. I’m going to take the stance and say just because you’re curious, doesn’t mean you have the right to be rude. How about getting to know me as a person first? What about my passions? And maybe, if I like you and want to share, I’ll share. It’s not a badge of honor that I wear on my chest. Or make it a big deal that some people make it out to be.

Yes, I agree ,we have a whole lot of work to do. I’m dating a white guy, and with me being “multi-racial” I can’t even begin to tell you the stupid shit questions I get. I have a older great auntie that keep asking about my father’s background and ask creepy questions about my features and they wonder why I keep my guy away from them lol.

  • I wish people would stop praising the fact that my partner is white, as if my ultimate accomplishment as a woman is snagging him, like I wouldn’t be able to make it if I didn’t have a guy in my life. I wrote another article on why people in my family have approached me about dating in the wrong way.
  • I’m not sure what relevance my father’s background has to do with anything, or why every time I see my family at our reunions every two years the issue is always brought up in some shape or form. I don’t get why they want to know so bad and why they need to know. It doesn’t change the fact that they’re overstepping your bounds and being rude.
  • I’ve gotten so many girls wanting to beat my ass growing up over my hair. And obsess over my “good hair.” My hair is a good length now, but back in grade school it was down my back. The point I’m trying to make? There is no superior race that has the best hair. So don’t say that someone who is bi-racial or multiracial heritages that they’re “lucky they didn’t get black hair.” It’s really mean and cruel.
  • I’ve had my fair share of dudes approach me saying I hate black guys. First of all, I told them they need to find a life because watching what I’m doing means they have nothing else better do to. Secondly, it’s not about skin color, hues, or me having a “type.” I’ve always dated guys who understands me. We also share similar personality traits, values, and attributes.

“How cute our mixed babies will be. I just think it’s a weird societal expectation that women should want to have children, and if they are mixed, that the outcome to look forward to is that they will be cute. Not healthy, good people, but cute.”

  • Me too! I hate that some people think the only think I need to look forward to is marriage and having kids or my sole purpose in life is to be someone’s wife & mother. I will keep breaking their twisted fantasy and live life on my own terms.
